Wow, it is so hard to believe that Catherine will be six years old tomorrow. I am eternally grateful for all birth parents. This weekend we celebrated with a gymnastics party and cupcakes. Catherine got to fly from the trapeze in the gym and had a very special and much needed ego boost with many of her friends running around in a bit of organized chaos. Her wise parents left the cupcakes at home so Daniel made a frantic return home to retrieve them. Charlotte had no problem putting herself front and center in every activity despite her age difference. She wore an old leotard of Catherine's and was happy as can be. Our girls continue to do great. Daniel's mom was in town this weekend for the first time since China. Catherine calls her "Boppa" which turned into "Poppa" over time and apparently the name will endure. Charlotte can't get enough of her and screams her name. She is a really cool grandmother who somehow has the patience to play whatever imaginary game your heart desires to no end. The only rules necessary are the ones that the unfortunate parents apply every now and then. It is a huge let down to our children when she goes home but they recover and always look forward to the next visit. Catherine received her first dollhouse for her birthday and grandmother added plenty of accessories. It is so fun to hear her reenact household situations. She professed that the white bottle that she was placing in the refrigerator (which was obviously milk) was wine. Too funny. Yes, two children make the supply of wine plentiful in the Hudson house. The painters who have been in our house for over two weeks FINALLY finished up today and we look forward to putting the house back together. Charlotte was beginning to think the painters were members of our family. Charlotte will begin transitioning into daycare in October and we hope all goes well. The announcements have arrived.... now I just have to find the time to address them.

Our Story
If you are reading this, you probably know us and the story behind our adoption journey. We are Daniel and Elizabeth Hudson who live in New Orleans, LA. In August of 2004, we traveled to the Guangdong province of China to adopt our daughter Catherine who was less than a year old. Parenthood has been an amazing journey and we eagerly pursued adoption of a second Chinese child in 2006. Things on the adoption front changed and we have been waiting to expand our family for almost three years. Several months ago, we came across a waiting child on our adoption agency's website. After gathering more information, and discussing her "issues" with medical professionals, we have decided to bring home our next daughter, Wang Yue Hong. She will turn two years old on August 17th. She is also waiting for us in the Guangdong province.
