Elizabeth, Catherine Mei and Daniel
Our Story
If you are reading this, you probably know us and the story behind our adoption journey. We are Daniel and Elizabeth Hudson who live in New Orleans, LA. In August of 2004, we traveled to the Guangdong province of China to adopt our daughter Catherine who was less than a year old. Parenthood has been an amazing journey and we eagerly pursued adoption of a second Chinese child in 2006. Things on the adoption front changed and we have been waiting to expand our family for almost three years. Several months ago, we came across a waiting child on our adoption agency's website. After gathering more information, and discussing her "issues" with medical professionals, we have decided to bring home our next daughter, Wang Yue Hong. She will turn two years old on August 17th. She is also waiting for us in the Guangdong province.

A family of four
So, it is official. We are a family of four. We have completed all of our official Chinese paperwork, passed the medical and now wait for the US side of things. Charlotte is feeling much better. We are calling her "the shovel" because we have not found a thing she does not eat. Her smiles are abundant and she is quite the drama queen. We are all sleeping through the night so all in all we are settling in. It has been pouring rain for the last two days but we made it into a local park yesterday and enjoyed an amusement park, a lovely exercise area, local folks doing thai chi and playing some very interesting instruments. Many of the adopted children in our group as well as the children we see at official appointments are children we recognize from the waiting children site. It is so wonderful to see them coming home with their families. We went to Shamian island last night and took a photo of our girls on the famous red couch and enjoyed some American food which was quite a treat. I am going to attempt to post some photos but I hear it has not gone so well for most.
